The J1 School Program is designed to provide excellent opportunities and an intensive cross-cultural experience to select international students which will expand their normal understanding of our world in a one-year program. VIA is certified by the  U.S. Department of State (http://J1visa.state.gov/) to sponsor students on a J-1 visa. Our cultural exchange program also follows the standards by the Cultural on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET).

We offer Semester and Academic Year programs for full-time study in an American high school to students between the ages of 15-18. Students placed in high schools across the country. Each student will live with a carefully screened and background checked volunteer Host Family and is supported by the Community Counselor assigned to their community. All students will be provided with medical insurance, emergency assistance throughout the program with our 24-hour Emergency Hotline, and direct communication with overseas sponsors and natural family.

Students may apply for an F1 Visa if they wish to continue studying in the states.

  We are fully certified by the US Department of State to issue Form DS2019 for foreign students to apply for their J1 Student Visa. VIA is large enough to give you a full range of options, but small enough to give a personal response to our families.

The F1 Private School Program provides students with excellent educational opportunities that may run for multiple years. VIA follows F-1 Visa guidelines Established by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). Our program follows all standards endorsed by The Council on Standards for International Educational
Travel (CSIET).

Our F-1 Exchange program can help you satisfy your interests in obtaining a quality education at one of the selected Private High Schools within VIA’s network of Day & Boarding Schools throughout the United States. We offer over 200 schools, so even if you are a thrill seeker looking to ski down mountain sides, or your passion is in music and art, we have a school for you. We even have schools that offer equestrian opportunities, rowing, football and soccer.
